So I am a little new to the DIY e-GPU scene and I'm looking for a little help regarding the proper equipment to buy and whether or not it would work properly.

    My laptop specs:
    -Lenovo ideapad Y480
-Intel HD Graphics 4000 and GeForce GT 640M LE GPU
    -Intel Ivy Bridge
-Mobile QuadCore Intel Core I7-3610QM Processor @2.3Ghz
    -8GB DDR3 SDRAM
-4 mPCI-E x1 ports (which I can access through the underside of my laptop)
-I have an external monitor as well

1st question, and I have been through the forums extensively, but is this setup able to support an e-gpu? I believe it is if I have done my research correctly.

What I intend to buy: (and any suggestions here would be appreciated)

-Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) FPB 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
Newegg.com - EVGA 01G-P3-1556-KR GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) FPB 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
    -Thermaltake TR2 W0070RUC 430W ATX12V V2.2 Power Supply
    Newegg.com - Thermaltake TR2 W0070RUC 430W ATX12V V2.2 Intel Core i7 Compliant Dual 80mm Fans Full Cable Sleevings Power Supply
    -PE4L-PM3N ver1.5 PE4L ( PCIe passive adapter ver1.5 )

2nd Question, is this equipment everything I need to go through with the operation? I am fairly competent when it comes to technology but I am new to this and quite frankly it's a bit complicated. Once again, all comments and suggestions are welcome.

    Thank you!!
