    Hi all,

I'd like to use a GTX 660ti with my lenovo x220t.

I've read through the DIY info.

Based on my reading have some questions.

With the Lenovo's HD3000 igpu the best solution looks like the 1x with optimus and the 660ti should work with that right?

Is there any benefit for me to try 2x with the hd3000 or would I lose it's benefits?

If 1x is the max than the Vidock is a pretty nice solution with the 660 ti isn't it? It doesn't seem to have a downside for the lenovo other than high price. It's very pricey but it's very compact and easy.

Would I be able to out perform the Vidock 4 plus with the 660ti on my lenovo x220t with some other solution?

I'm also thinking of increasing my x220t ram to 2x 8GB 1866 Mhz to speed up the igpu and the optimus. Do you think faster ram would help the EGPU?

    Thanks much,

    -michael

Okay so upon further research I'm im love only with the enclosure size and finish. It really is way to expensive and the killer for me is that you need 2 external power supplys for the Vidock4 plus. So I'm looking into building my own around a 660ti.

I'm still looking to know if the 660ti is a good choice for the Lenovo x220t?
Should I go for the PE4L or PE4H? Does the H give me more choice in the future for other laptops?

I'm looking at these project boxes for a starting enclosure. Love to hear some opinions.
    I'm thinking the
    11.0 x 7.5 x 5.1 D
    (280 x 190 x 130 D)

And I'd get a xbox 203w psu and try to put it inside the enclosure too.

    Thanks,

    PE4L 2.1b is pci-e 2.0 compliant. PE4H 2.4 is pci-e 1.0 compliant only. Your X220 has a pci-e 2.0 expresscard slot so you want a PE4L 2.1b to extract maximum performance (x1.2Opt).

    A PE4L 2.1b + custom enclosure + 203W xbox360 PSU (12V/198W) + GTX660Ti/GTX670 is an excellent solution for your X220.

    Great thanks nando4

So I have a few more questions.

What would happen if you had 2 or more x1 links? Would optimus not start?

So ideal for me is PE4L with 1.2 OPT using 660ti.
I'll get the xbox 360 psu.

My only remaining questions are how to split the power from the xbox psu to the various places it needs to go. The 660ti has 2x 6pin connectors. Then the PE4L will need power also. Is there a link that shows how people have done that?

Also are there any good resources for buying enclosures rather than building yourself from scratch. I was thinking project boxes might be a good start. Anybody have better ideas than that. I don't have time to make bend cut or glue from scratch but I could cut up a proper sized box.

    Thanks,

    -michael

    Will the Xbox 203w
Be enough power for a 660ti and pe4l??

Looks like they need about 225 w??

    @nando4

nando4 himself has an amazing enclosure... tell us nando4 how did you build it? I saw some photos but I can't get to know the elements you used like the enclodure itself. It would be amazing if I could use the same thing to house a GTX 670/660ti and a 360PSU
