Would an HD7950 work? If not, what would be the next best thing? I'm looking to get the highest performance possible. (going to be gaming on a 2560x1600 monitor)

Also has anyone had any issues using the Vidock with the Thinkpad W520? Thanks!

I forgot to note that I'm looking for something that will work with the stock power supply that comes with the unit. Also will 8 pin cards (such as the 7970) work on the Vidock if I get a 6 to 8 pin adapter? Would it be worth it over the 7950? Thanks.

    Hey,

When it comes to express card, NVidia is usually better as it allows for Optimus compression which gives a huuuge boost (something AMD doesn't offer out of the box). The Vidock 4+ Overdrive is 320w (correct me if I'm wrong) so that should be more than enough to power high end cards. A 680 only uses two 6-pin adapters, so your Vidock would be able to power that.

I haven't used it specifically, would I would read the forums and check if anyone else has used them.
