    hp dm4 with free pcie slot

    hey guys, would it be able to use egpu on the hp dm4 with a free pcie slot, which also can used for msata hdd's. If so, which egpu version should i use, to use for example a gtx660 or gtx670.

    Can't use the mSATA slot for a mPCIe-based eGPU. Reason is that rather than pins 23,25,31,33 being pci-e as is requires for an eGPU, they are sata on a mSATA slot.

    The solution is to use an accessible wifi mPCIe slot instead. Just be aware that HP tends to whitelist their ports so you'd either need to boot, halt Win7/8 loading with F8, swap the wifi card with the PM3N end of a PE4L-PM060A 2.1 before proceeding to load Windows. Then the bios sees a whitelisted wifi card and enables the mPCIe port.

    If you wanted to avoid this hotswapping then you could use Setup 1.1x's anti-whitelisting features.

    alright thank you for the info, i have right next to the msata slot a pcie slot, where i can remove the wifi card and use an usb wlan stick instead and order the
