Very exciting. Looks like Dell/Alienware are going to be leading the charge of bringing this concept into the mainstream. Looks proprietary, but perhaps that will change/can be changed in the future (or other brands will step up). The AW 13 starts at $999, and the dock is $299. It can hold any AMD or Nvidia full sized GPU and has an PSU beefy enough to easily power a GTX 980 (that is also user replaceable). It also has several USB ports and display ports.

Its still somewhat foggy on whether or not there will be a decent quad core option. I the website isn't up/complete yet, and I could have sworn on the stream he said there was a quad core i7 option available.

As well, you can check Dell AUS for the full launch config. -
pls pls oh pretty pls have an i7 quad inside, then I am buying it tomorrow, no matter how expensive it is..
sadly no, such a mistake to pair i5 ULV with a desktop 980... why did they do this? to torture us? -
i'm pretty sure they will allow a quad cpu upgrade in that thing sooner or later. that's practically worthless with a dual core i5 unless you're not using it for gaming...
new Alienware 13 has a full fledged E-GPU dock.
