I'm having trouble detecting wireless networks with my new 6809. I have a wireless B router set up at home(both desktops still run Win2k pro) and they can detect the signal with their old B adapters, but I still cant seem to pick up the network with my 6809. I've also tried to use the laptop outside a comp USA and at a star bucks, both places are supposed to be wireless "hotspots" where you can log onto their networks and get online. I'm just wondering if I need to change settings in WinXP, which Im unfamiliar with, or if it might be a hardware problem. I have yet to have any wireless network show up when I look at the advanced properties of the wireless card.

First off, make sure your chip is turned on...M6809s have the WIFI chips turned off by default when first turning on the computer. Press the FN and F2 keys simutaneously to activate/deactivate the wireless card.

If it is on, then make sure that the card utility allows Windows to configure your settings. If this does not do the trick, make sure that the card is set to recognize both B and G wireless networks.

If none of this works, reply as such.

    Good luck!
