    does anyone have any idea where I could get a motherboard for 3438/4438 notebook, except directly through fsc?

    Perhaps eBay, but notebook motherboards are hard to get. What happened to yours? It might be easier to get a new laptop. :(

    well, today I got a new laptop. and it's HP this time.
    My FSC 4438 ended its life last friday.
    it was barely a year old.
    the pci-express was faulty... caught fire. damaging the motherboard and the go6800. the repair would cost 1200+ euros.
    FSC refuses to repair it at their expence(despite the 2 year waranty) because of the "higher force" clausule.


    I was thinking of restoring the motherboard, putting in some other graphic card, and use it for rendering.

    also, is there any chance I might find a compatible mbo from some other brand?
