The 6120 comes standard with inegrated 802.11b wi-fi. Is it upgradeable to 802.11g by replacing a wireless card? Or is it built on?

If it's not upgradeable and I wanted to use 802.11g, could I just use a pci slot "g" wireless card?

You would need to check if your wireless card is plugged in the mini pci slot. If yes, which is most probably the case, you can replace it with something like this:

Just so you know, going to that card won't help the internet go any faster.

And while we're on the subject, you meantioned previously you liked atheros because of it's native super G. Is super G a standard such that any ap/router claiming to support super G would give you 108mbps rate? Or is this supported only in AP's which have an atheros super g chipset (like dlink?) What is the straight story on this?

No you wont get extra distance if you upgrade your card. If you check the pics in the link I provided previously you will notice that you will have to connect the built in antenna of your laptop to the new card (labelled 'main' and 'aux'). So your antenna will be the determining factor of range.
As for super G yes this is a standard, you will just have to check that your AP supports it. If I am not mistaken it works by having a dual channel transmission!

they are plugs, but some care should be taken when disconnecting/connecting them.
