I am replacing a stolen thinkpad and am thinking of a 6210 or 6231 with xp pro.
Have owned a Thinkpad 600x and x20 and was happy with the service and quality.I have been unable to see a 62xx in Vancouver it seems no one stocks any product. How is the crystal view display in terms of eyestrain? Is the build quality, support, warranty and service equal to IBM? Does anyone know of a reseller who has stock in Vancouver?

I'm assuming you are from Vancouver, BC.
I think most, if not all, computer retailers in Vancouver do not keep stocks on Fujitsu laptops. Since I was looking to see one in person before I made my purchase, I called ICI Computer in Richmond to see if they have any in stock.
They don't, but lucky enough, there was a buyer picking up his 6231 the next day so that I could check it out. You may try the same thing!
In fact, I want to see an Asus M6N too. I am undecided between it and the fujitsu.

The quality is very strong, on the same level as IBM. I think eye strain is lessened with the enhanced displays, the CrystalView is one of, if not the best.

Thanks for the input ...as I am highly mobile and not much of a gamer I can see that the 6231 will be an excellant choice. Thanks to all the people who took the time to provide reviews to this site.

I ordered my 6231 from the computer shop next door in Vancouver.

His quote was comparable with e-tailers.
It seems his price was also sharp on the Asus M5N and the M6N.
