I might be replying a little late, but anyway. I haven't got that particular notebook, but it looks like quite a good notebook. It has an AD processor, which isn't as fast a the Core 2 Duo, but is still way more than enough for normal useage. The price is probably quite good as well, because AMD notebooks tend to be a little cheaper. I also quite like the looks, and the use of metal in the constructions, which means it will be strong and should have good build qualitly.

I would advise posting a thread in the "What Notebook Should I Buy" section, as a larger response will present itself to you there. If you do decise to do this, then a number of other notebooks will be suggested, but you should really fill out an FAQ, as it helps alot for identifying suitible notebooks.

I have made a review of that notebook and it is amazing!. Best designed notebook that I have ever seen. Just awesome notebook. Also a great performer for its price. For example (I dont want to advertise or something you live in Milan anyway) we sell the Xa1526 for 1050 euro's: 240 GB, Turion X2 1.8 GHz, 1 GB and 7600Go. That is very cheap compared to other notebooks. And the 17" screen is awesome.

The notebook doesnt have an integrated TV-tuner, so you have to buy that seperatlely.

Here is my small review: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=103498

    Good luck!

Welcome back Zero we missed you at the Fujitsu forum ;)

i have to say 1050euros is a great price...have you run any benchmarks on it would love to know how it performs..i have to say though its a shame that the xi 1554/xi 1546 doesnt have the same aluminum brush look (although they are compensated with an x1800/x1900  )

The notebook was new in box and because we sell new notebooks I was not allowed to start the notebook and bench it. But I can give you an idea how good the notebook performs. The scores are pretty accurate:

    3dmark05: 3600
    3dmark06: 2100
    3dmark03: 8000

You can play any game with this machine. The 7600Go is powerful and F&S uses the non-downlocked version of it with GDDR2 which performs very good in games. The 3dmark scores may look low but the actual gaming performance is good.

The looks are just beautiful, my photo's are not very sharp and clear but the design is nice. I also want to see the next generation of F&S notebooks to have styling like the Xa1526.

For any other question: feel free to ask here at the Fujitsu forum.

For other benchmarks check this review: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3395
Not exactly the same hardware but pretty close. It kinda gives you an idea...

    Good luck.

I have just had a look at the little review, and the notebooks lokks very good, indeed. I really do like the metal finish, and it should add some strength and durability to the design aswell. Are you planning on doing a full review, if possible?

Thanks Charlie. I see quite a bit of activity has been present on the Fujitsu forum, not like when we used to get the odd few threads every week. :)

    Hello.

I asked this on another thread too but this one seems more suited, so:

I want to buy a fairly powerful notebook with an AMD cpu and the Xa 1526 is the best I can find where I live. There's also a special rebate for the X series from F-S that puts this at an insanely small price.

Also, I'd like to know if there are some people here who know some tech details, like what chipset does it have. I need to know if there's a chance it'll support the new Tyler 65 nm Turions on S1 from AMD. As far as AMD is concerned they said most S1 mobos that support a TL-56 should support the Tyler core and I want to know if I can upgrade it later.

Also, does it support MXM cards?

    Thanx.
