    Hi,
I looking at the Amilo A 1667g notebook with a 4000+ athlon mobile processor. The 1GB memory plus 100 GB HD sounds great for around £ 900 pounds here in the UK.

I would like to have an AMD laptop, assuming it will be a bit faster than comparable intel laptops. However, is it as good as it seems? I was hoping to use it for a bit of gaming, as well as the usual stuff. I would be using XP and a linux distro on it.

Importantly, it's a desktop replacement for me, so the weight and heat is not a problem as long as the machine is running nicely.

Are there anyone who got one of these and can tell me whether it is worth the money?

    Thanks.
