here are specs.
CPU: Turion 64 (X2) 1.6Ghz
HDD: 120Gb
RAM: 1024 Mb
GRAPH. Ati Radeon x1100... etc
my question is related to CPU cores. So, I have noticed that sometimes after boot right click on my computer>properties shows 798MHz and sometimes 1.6Ghz what could be the problem in?![]()
Please notebook PROs answer as soon as possible, cause this issue kills me, I can't predict when it's going to be 1.6 Ghz so i can play games...
Playing games on 798Mhz is nightmare...

This is AMD's version of speedstep. It will reduce the clock of the processor, in order to reduce heat, and more importantly, increase battery life when on the battery. If youk want to play games, when on AC power, then select "Always On" under the "Power Schemes". This should work.

one more question is there any way of upgrading Pa1510's cpu (i've seen in "whitepaper" that it supports AMD Sempron, too)??
and where are those power schemes, exactly? (i'm kinda new to notebooks) ... under battery otions, right click on battery system tray icon?? or what... -

You can upgrade the CPU but it is very difficult, if you are new to notebooks dont do it. You got a 1.6 X2, it is a very powerfull processor for all applications.
You can edit power schemes this way:
- Right click battery icon, edit power schemes --> first tab: energy scheme's --> Then select Always On for maximal performance (but it generates more heat) or Notebook for optimal battery (CPU clocks down.
Unless you play games I would not edit the power schemes. Let AMD regulate it.

thanks on feedback NS! so you say it is possible to upgrade CPU!? i didn't mean to do upgrade it myself, though... and yes i agree it's a powerful machine! so in a few years I can take it to the computer service and ask them to upgrade it to say, TL-60 or so... ?
Cheers, boolean
one more question... is it (1.6Ghz x 2) or (800Mhz x 2) ?? -

No problem boolean
It is an dual core, which means that both cores run at 1.6 GHz. Which makes it 3.2 GHz in total.
Upgrading in a few years can be possible but it can be hard to find a CPU like the TL-60 after a few years.
If you have more question: feel free to post.

is it advisable to keep laptop turned on more than 24 hours? I mean may i keep it running 24 hours continuously??
regards, boolean -
When did a dual core of 1.6 GHz mean 3.2 GHz?
To explain dual core, take for example a horse. A horse can run at 40km/h and can pull a 10kg load. 2 horses pulling the same 10kg load does means that it goes faster. the 2 horses will still run at 40km/h juz that perhaps they can pull a load of 20kg without any significant decrease in the speed. i hope dis clarifys any misconception -
Look on the net for this thing and you will understand why you have sometimes 800 MHz and other times 1600 MHz.
