    Hi,

Just got a brand new Amilo Pi 1536 but it has a German windows XP home version installed on it. I tried to install windows XP professional on it but I run into a problem that says there is no hard drive detected on the machine.

What to do, anyone had a similar problems?

    Tahnk you,

    regards,

I'm also considering on buying this laptop in the next 2 days. However my main concern is the SATA drive. It's a real hassle to install an OS on a sata drive without drivers (especially windows XP where it wants a disk and naturallly there is nog floppy on this machine)
Like many posted before, the only answer is slipstreaming with NLite .

I'm planning on putting Ubuntu (Dapper Drake) on it. Anybody any experience with that ? Does it now support SATA in the installation sequence ?

It is pain in the ass, I have been trying to install it for 3 dazs now and still have not succeded. I got a USB flopy device got a driver on it and did as it is said on a fujitsu-siemens suppor site and I made it one step further only, now I get to format the disk but as soon as it is finished the computer tells me to put in drive A: Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver and it blocks right there, does not react after pressing an enter only F3 to cancel all. what do I do next, how to solve this problem?

    Anybody knows?

After the format process leave the "A" drive connected and the disk in the drive. Windows requires it to install the proper driver in the initial file loadup sequence.

    Hope this helps!

I've had the same problem with my pi 1556, so I asked in the shop that I bought what to do and I resolved the problem (I used a floppy for USB and tried the drivers, because when I added the wrong one, it was prompted on the screen. I hope I didn't do anything wrong [?] ).
