    Hello!

I have a problem with my display on Fujitsu Siemens Amilo pi1505.

This photo isn't mine, I found it on some other board where someone had identical problems like I do. There wasn't any solution in that thread.

The problem you see on that photo appeared recently. Firstly I've updated and changed Intel chipset and graphic software and drivers. My laptop is running on Windows XP SP3. Nothing changed. Then I realized that if the display is the same in BIOS then it must be some kind of hardware error. I pluged in an external LCD monitor and it worked perfectly.

Before this error occured I had a display resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels but now I don't have this one between my display options.

Anyone have any idea what is wrong and how to fix this?

Does your computer get pretty hot? I've heard of a 6-way split resulting from a machine overheating, this might be a variant.

Hm.. I gets hot, depends on what kind of surface I have it. But when I turn it on it is still cold so it should work fine at start ? Am I right?

What can I do if this is a result of overheating?

Well, before doing anything drastic, try to take the easy way out. Since Windows XP does have a window splitting option, I would first see if cancelling that works.

To do so, select the windows that are currently being split by selecting one, then select the other while holding done the "Ctrl" key. Then right-click the taskbar. Finally, select "Undo Tile." This might bring the window back to its size and undo the split screen.

Thanks for your help but the screen isn't split. Looks like some sort of hardware problem.

I've also tried to reset BIOS to default and reset hardware but no luck.

    Any other suggestion please?

I would also like to add that on the right side where there is that thick line on the monitor (see the photo) and at the bottom of the screen where colors are distorted, you can see the movement. On the right you can see a thick line of display (narrow line where 'E' from Quote button is placed). If you move scrollbar up and down display in that thick line on the right moves too! Also at the bottom if you move the mouse over start menu button for example you can see the bottom lines change the colors because of the mouse arrow.
