can anyone tell me how to remove my cd drive from my V2055 , ive searched google and cant find a thing , i have another drive to put in (DVDRW from
ZD8000) and it looks interchangable but i cant get the old one out :( seems like theres a screw holding it in from the back but i cant get to it

the face plates come off and look like they have the same style clips

The drive i am trying to remove is a philips scb5265 and the one im trying to install is a GWA-4080N or HP's no.374737-001

any help would be great as i really need a DVDRW and if i can help it i dont want to get an external
    Thanks

I don't know my way around the Amilos, but I have swapped ODDs in a few other notebooks. Often there is a fixing bracket on the back of the drive. Look for a screw on the bottom of your computer either about 5 1/2" (13cm) in from the front of the ODD, or maybe at one side of the ODD. Or the screw may be under the keyboard.

You have already worked out how to get the face plate off. This is usually the difficult part.
