I bought an Amilo Pro v3205 laptop the day before yesterday, and I am having problems with the battery indicator.

According to the manual, the battery indicator should:
--> flash while the battery is charging
--> light up when the battery is full
--> turn off when battery is empty

What happens at my situation is:
--> lights up when battery is charging
--> turns off when battery is full
--> still off when battery is empty / very low

I`m worried that this might turn out to be something nastier than what it appears... Any ideas about this problem? I tried updating the BIOS from 1.17 to 1.19 but nothing changed.

Btw, battery is charging ok I`m having no problem with that just the indicator.

Any ideas what the problem is or any solutions? Is it a common problem with these laptops? Should I turn it in for service?
(Other than this I `m very pleased with the laptop and I wouldn`t like waiting for (maybe months) for a small indicator fault)

    thx for any help

    Hi fellas!

I am on the point of buying a v3205 and it is very hard to find any reviews about it. Since some of you already have some history with this model, can you please give me some advice? What you like and what you don't like about it? Did you have any problems with it (besides this one described here)so far? Is it resistant enough for extensive use?

Thank you so much for your prompt input!

    Hello aboy

Since i bought this notebook and i am happy with it, 2 weeks now and the only problems i had was to install my own win xp as xp installation cd didn't find my SATA hard disk.
some applications i did not install like keyboard manager.

for me what i like about this notebook is:

    1- light wight 1.5 kg
    2- good battery life
    3- run cool
    4- fan is quite

well that is all i can say about V3205
