The fan of my 12'1 fujitsu amilo si 1520 seems to be working at top level all the time with a lot of noise and the quick button on keyboard does not seem to make any change, any idea or help or similar problem?
Thanks

What is the temperature of the processor? You can find this out by downloading Everest or better yet, Notebook Hardware Control (NHC). If the temperature is above 55 or 60 C, then generally the fan will turn on. Also, it depends on what tasks you are doing on the notebook. For example, if you are encoding or video editing, then a load is being put onto the processor, and alot of heat is produced.

thanks zero, I did that after you said, temp is 35 degrees and just explorer is working and still the fan is at top level

Thats weird. If you have had the notebook for a while, then a BIOS update may help the fan speed. Be careful though, if you decide to update the BIOS. If it incorrectly flashes, then the notebook may fail to turn on at all, and may render it useless. Make sure you understand the instructions on the Fujitsu Siemens website, and follow them exactly. If you don't understand the instructions fully, then don't perform the update.

although NHC is good try rmclock it is app by intel. i found reduce the heat considerably it all functions NHC but also supports centrino laptops especially. From what i have read notebooks even when connected to ac adapter still work via battery this mean the pwr from ac adapter will supplied indirectly through the battery. rmclock can supply direct even with battery connected thus giving the battery some rest increasing its life span. if youre on the move it can switch to battery.
