Seems they have pretty good prices for the configuration and extended warranty on the P7000 series I plan on buying and was just curious if anyone else had any experience with them....
cheers

Look through the most recent topics on this forum, say for the past 6 months or so. You will find that many of us have dealt with Portable One and most are very satisfied. P-1 gives out good, sound advice and provides excellent prices combined with first class customer service. Regards, Ace [8D]

Thanx for the info guys[
]
With all the rumors of an update coming next month, I'm gunna wait it out and see what comes about, but I'll definitely be giving P-1 a call when the time comes [8D] -
(Sorry about the length-but this is an introductory post as well as reply)
Well...the timing of this message is ironic!
This is my first post here-I've been lurking on this site for three months or so. I found this site while researching laptops, and I've been here at least 4-5 times a week. I've been S-tR-E-s-S-i-N-G over "which laptop?" From what I've read, no one here has had THAT problem! []
ANYWAY, from DAY 1, I've decided I want an enhanced screen. I've NEVER cared for the dim screens of the older laptops, and was okay with the newer "high brightness" ones, UNTIL I went into Best Buy and seen the Qosmio! [:0]
I know there is much debate here over the two types, but I love them, and for this much money, I want it on mine. The "glare" doesn't bother me.
Another point I've been seeing is the mention of "keyboard flex." I am in agreement with those who DON'T care for it. Some say it is a "shock absorber" for heavy typists, but if I'm spending TWO GRAND on a machine, I DON'T want it to feel like a toy in the nursery. I've only noticed the REAL flimsy ones on "thin and light" and "ultraportables" so I'm guessing that the likely reason is it might have to do with using the lightest components possible. You don't see it on most desktop replacements.
From day one on this board, I've been noticing the high regard Fujitsu has, so I decided on the N6010.
I will be buying it through a special loan program offered by my bank, but to do this I first need an "pre-invoice" or sales contract, and they will then cut a check which I have to mail. On reccomendation of my bank, I first went through the State contract vendor here (I'm in NC, and it's Alphanumeric.) I got VOICE MAIL ( [!] ) THREE out of THREE times, and left messages. NONE have been returned to date.
I then decided to buy through Fujitsu themselves. The CSR said they had no form for this and couldn't do this. ALSO, they were going to charge NC sales tax (which I wasn't expecting and don't see why.)
THEN...I recalled the posts about PortableOne (P1) here. I gave them a call and FROM THE START, they've been 100% great.
I first talked to Victor in sales, and he took all the time I needed to understand some 'puter stuff, AND said that the Invoice would not be a problem. In this "TIMEISMONEY!" day, it is AWFULLY nice to get someone like that. Many are all about "turnover" and rush you, and are NOT apt to talk with you. NOT a a problem with P1!
I'm not trying to give them my life story or make a telephone friend-don't get me wrong! However, we are a ONE INCOME family (and that one income is meager!) $2000 is a HUUUUGE amount of money, and I want to be sure I'm spending it wisely.
Ivan also took care of preparing the contract and although he is going to mail one, he also took the time to send one .pdf, so I can be at the bank at 9:01 Monday morning.
I APPRECIATE THAT!
P1-SO FAR SO GOOD. THEY ARE THE BEST "MAILORDER" COMPANY I'VE DEALT WITH IN A LONG TIME.
I'll keep you guys posted.
Thanks for humoring me and my long post.

Never thought I'd be into THIS stuff! -
Those are not rumors, it's fact that Fujitsu is refreshing their line. Should be March when they ship, but we'll see.

I bought an extended battery for my S6210 from them in November that I needed before I went on vacation. I did not receive it in time but I will tell you that Ivan did everything in his power to try. He even offered to overnight it to my destination at his expense! They may be more expensive in some aspects but there are some things that are worth the extra cost and customer service is one of them.
That's my 2 cents (3 cents if you want good customer service, though.) -

I am in the stage of selecting a new laptop (S6231!!) and Ivan has been very helpful. He has patiently answered my ( Advanced and detailed questions), and has made recommendations based on what I need rather than what he could "upsell" me. That and a very pleasant call to Fujitsu support (45-60 second hold to talk to a fellow who was very knowledgable and helped me, even though I was still kicking tires) have made the decision for me. I have used an Osbourne, early IBM Thinkpad, 2 Dells, and 2 Toshibas, and so far the support here has been much better, the PC Mag readers survey bears this out for Fujitsu also...K
Anyone here ever dealt with PortableOne.com?
