I am interested in this model, but yet to decide if it's gonna be my future laptop.
Anyone here use Fujitsu P7230 with INTEL CORE DUO U2500? What is your review? Is the fan still annoying? What about the performance?
I have been using my S6130 for more than 3 years and I am happy with it.
Thanks![]()

Dear Eur, I have just ordered a P7230 (core duo version) after much research. I believe it to be the best sub-portable on the market today - better even than the Sony Vaoi TZ in terms of build quality. Also the keys on the TZ are difficult to read in dim light which is a problem for travellers like me (and many others judging by the threads). I peviously owned a Lifebook P7010 which was the most reliable computer I have ever owned. I think Fujitsu has a very strong focus on engineering quality which sets them apart from the competition. Attached is a link on the P7230 which you may find helpful.
Best regards,
Cuthbert

I have been researching and somehow, although there are many fish in the ocean, I find myself still leaning towards Fujitsu. My S6130 has been great.
Besides, the overall value of P7230 U2500 might be better than TZ (too expensive, looks fragile),VGN (too expensive, looks fragile), Toshiba R500 (a bit expensive, and plastic frame), Asus W5FE (a bit too heavy and bulky for 10"-12.1" laptops), HP series N (mmm.... was working for an HP /Compaq distributor and if they don't change how they designed the laptop, I don't think I like to switch to HP), X60 series (external optical - not handy), dell 1330 (heavy, a bit bulky).
About Fujitsu P7230: I read on this forum, some people mentioned about the noisy fan (for the Intel Core Solo U1400 model). Now that Fujitsu has released their newer model with Intel Core Duo 2500, I am having my hope high that they fix the fan + increase the perfomance.
Sooo... Please, let me know how you find your P7230 U2500. It'll be great.
Thank you...! -
By the way, I also looked at the Toshiba R500, which is an absolutely beautiful machine - until you turn it on. The screen is deplorable. You have to look directly at it otherwise it becomes unviewable. Apparently this has something to do with its ability to be used outside. But when you compare it to a normal modern screen indoors (where it will be used 99% of the time) it is unacceptable.
I will update you when I start using my new P7230.
Anyone use P7230 core duo U2500?
