Does anyone know if Fujitsu assembles their notebooks in Japan, or is it China??? Lifebook A3130 just caught my attention....and I thought I'd check this out....

My A3130 says made in Japan.

Nice. That's a good sign. Seems that you pay a bit more for their laptops, (at their web site). They want to add like 250.00 for the student teacher edition of office.....
I like the A3130 alot..but it should be about 200.00 less to compete, and up the hard drive size...
But it's not out of the running. -
My S6410 is made in Japan.

Most Fujitsus are made in Japan. Some models say made in China, but they are manufactured in Japan and just assembled in China because of lower labor costs.

My Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V3205 says: Made in Germany ;-) but i think it was only assembled in Germany.
Well, it was also bought in Germany!

just curious -
My Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Si 1520 says "Made in Germany".
I would think it extremely unlikely that any significant part of a Fujitsu laptop is made in Japan. The world centre of laptop manufacturing companies is Taiwan - whether or not this counts as "China" depends on your point of view - but it seems that the Taiwanese companies themselves do a lot of the work in factories in mainland China.
According to this article:
http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=33284
83% of laptops shipped in the world in the first half of 2006 were manufactured in mainland China, and the top 10 companies accounted for 78% of shipments. Only one of these companies is not Taiwanese - Samsung, which is Korean. -
When I purchased my N6410 it was made and shipped from Japan.
Assembled where??
