I got a 6231 less than a year ago, and have not used the DVD player too much. Recently I have been using it, and noticed DVDs feezing. The best I can narrow it down, I believe it only happens with backup DVDs and not originals. I don't believe it is a certain brand of media, and occurs when using (+) or (-) media.

The drive I have is the Combo DVD burner (Ma****a). Is there another brand that works better for all types of media, or has anyone else experienced these problems?

What are you using to rip your "backups?"

I was using DVD X-Copy Express, and now Dvd Shrink, although, I can't say which if any are the cause on the discs thats are freezing. That's a good idea, I didn't think of looking at that.

I just played an original and it froze for a second or two in a couple different frames. Seems to be much worse on the bacups, to the point I have to stop the Dvd program from task manager.
