    Hi,

I own a Fujitsu C2310, which I have had to replace because the area where you plug in the charger (forget what it is called) became unatached and I did not want to spend $1300 to fix an old computer. But the computer itself still works fine, so I was wondering if there was some sort of external charger I could use, to charge the battery outside the computer and then put it back in an just use the computer with battery power.

If anyone has any other ideas, that could enable me to use the computer, at least once in a while, please help me out!!

    Thanks.

Who the heck quoted you $1300? If all that needs to happen is a piece soldered back into place, a local repair shop can probably do it in less than an hour. As yo an external charger, there's nothing like that available.

I bought the computer through Data Vision and it was serviced by Micro Medics, which is used by the extended Warranty company. They said it was my fault it broke and wouldn't replace it unless I paid $1300, although they graciously offered to keep my computer and sell the parts, so I could avoid paying the $95 dignostic fee. My father who doesn't know computers but knows when someone's trying to cheat him lent me the money, but I had not thought I could get it fixed so easily, so thank you for the advice.

Pay the diagnostic fee, get your rig back. Take it somewhere else and get a second opinion.

I have the computer back already, the whole thing seemed kinda sketchy, and only served to reinforce what a nasty racket the extended warranty business is.

I will look for a repairman, and hopefully will find someone as close to honest as possible, who will fix my computer for a reasonable fee.

    Thank you all!!
