    Hi,

I have a Amilo D7580 and it has a 14.4v 4000mAh battery, which unfortunately has died, although its to be expected after a few years use. However I cannot find a replacement battery on the interweb. All I found was the following link,

    http://www.all-battery.com/browseproducts/Battery-for-Fujitsu-Amilo-A7620-D7830-D8830-L6820-Series-Laptops---Li-Ion-14.8v-4000mAh-NEW-%5BOEM%5D.HTML

All the others were 14.8V 4400mAh batteries.

So I ordered the above battery expecting a 4000mAh battery to arrive BUT the battery I got was 14.8v 4400mAh.

Will it damage my laptop if I use this battery??? Do I need to return the battery?

the voltage and capacity of the new battery is fine, it`s just using newer cells that have a slightly higher capacity and voltage.

as long as the website says it`s compatible with you laptop it will be fine.

see below for a explanation for the higher voltage and capacity.

old lithium-ion battery cells were 3.6volts*4=14.4volts at 2000mah each at 2 lots of 4 cells in parallel = 4000mah.

but the new cells are 3.7volts*4=14.8volts at 2200mah each at 2 lots of 4 cells in parallel=4400mah.

    regards.

    John.

    Thanks a million!!

I didn't want to plug in my new battery and then hear a bang as my power supply blew up or something. ;)
