    Hello all,

    I have a Fujitsu S6210 with a Pentium M 1.6 GHz, 60 GB Hard-drive and 1 GB RAM (on two 512 cards).

I want to know how good can I make this computer. Can I buy a better processor for it? Does it support more RAM? And what about a new HDD -- is it possible?

If any of these can be upgraded, which ones and for which components? i.e. which processors can I buy?

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the RAM info notebookaddict. That helped, I am almost surely going to get two 1 GB cards for this computer. One question: my father has an ASUS V1S-B1 and is going to switch the two 1 GB cards that came with it for two 2 GB cards. I know that those cards are clocked at 667 MHz and the ones on this computer are not, but I have heard that most RAM cards are backwards compatible. Can I use those cards here?

Sorry -- should have asked this in the first post

EDIT: I have just done some more research. The ASUS memory is DDR2, while my S6210 uses DDR memory. Therefore, they are incompatible :(

you can upgrade your pentium m to a faster pentium m chip, but definitely not to a dual core cpu. also, note that there are different types of pentium m chips, e.g. banias or dothan. i have no idea what the compatibilities are. you should find out your chipset number and google, e.g. core duo chipset is gm945.

Well, I just got more RAM today. I won't upgrade the CPU since at university they have some quite powerful PCs which I can use remotely to do number crunching. I also got a free external HDD (my dad's old HDD, converted to a USB HDD) so I almost have a new computer really cheap.

    Thanks for all the comments.
