I know that you don't buy the T901 for a big sound experience, but I'd like to be able to hear videos and music a bit better. I've maximized all the settings in the volume mixer/system volume. Anything else I can do? Thanks.

Seems like that only works on some soundcards.

I have some experience with this. In win XP, sometimes the volume is not set to full.
Heres how to check: double click on the volume icon, go to Options > Properties > check all check boxes > click OK.

If WAVE is turned down, this will affect pretty much all playback. And of course you can see what the other sliders affect. SW synth is MIDI.

For a quick fix: use VLC media player (videolan.org)
The volume goes to 200% ;)
