I just bought a Fujitsu notebook--I'm happy with it and all, but I've got a bif with the dealer.
If you are planning to buy a notebook, DON'T get it from Notebook Outlet (www.notebookoutlet.ca)!
They promise you the sky--literally--but fails in the delivery. For example, I wanted a whole bunch of stuff--RAM upgrade, hard drive upgrade, carrying case, DVD RW, integrated wireless. Sure, the sales-lady said they'll do that and all for a nice low price. She even said the machine came with most of the features I wanted anyways and urged me to buy on the spot.
Since I have been wanting to replace my notebook, and the price was right, I went for it.
How wrong I was!
When I got it back, not only did it NOT have any of the features I wanted, all she did was upgrade RAM and HD. I called them back to say this isn't what you promised, and her reply was that it wasn't included in my model. She said all of what I wanted is in some other model--just not the one she sold me. I asked for a refund or an exchange so I could get what I really want (seeing how this machine isn't doing much for me), she simply turned me down without any reason or consideration.
To top it off, she even called me a liar...I felt so insulted!
So, my advice is, sure thing Fujitsu makes great notebook, but BEWARE OF THE DEALER! DON'T EVER BUY FROM NOTEBOOK OUTLET!

What a shame, I hate to hear stories like this. Thanks for the warning though...

What model did you want/what model did you recieve? What price did she quote to you?
How long did you spend researching the exact model and configuration you wanted?
Why did you buy from a place where you did not have reurn priveldges at? Most places let you return, or at least exchange for store credit for most any reason; especially if there is evidence they or you simply botched up the order on the phone. I would have done email correspondence with them before or im parallel to consumating the purchase over the phone. That way you both have evidence of what you said in hard paper.
Dont mean to be critical, but it sounds like in your zeal you may* have been to quick to buy or misunderstood/misheard what she was offering you. I say that mainly because you didnt mention what model you wanted and what model you recieved in your post; suggesting a possible lack of fully-lucid awareness of the differences between the various models/configurations. On the other hand, sometimes phone reps themselves pull that bait and switch **** and can be can be real dicks afterwards, claiming they did not say that, or that you misunderstood what they said. Sometimes they are right; sometimes we are right...I have seen and experienced both. In your case, it seems there is no evidence of who said what. However, there is a saying in buesiness: "Customer is King". (If you cant make your customers happy, you cant stay in business; customers pay your paychecks, quite literally.)
I would demand a refund or exchange priveldges and threaten them with a complaint to the Canadian Better Business Bureau; and wright a formal letter to the store as well to show the seriousness of your intentions/feelings, expressing your desire to work this out cordially. Theres a better chance they will listen to you when they weigh in the cost of that in this silly little matter.
Best of luck in getting what you want,
Neil
