    Hi,

I have been a Thinkpad user so far, have a T43 which I love. I gave it to my wife, so I am considering a second-hand Fujitsu S6231 for it's lightweight and features (plus great price).

It comes with no warranty, which is risky. Since I never used Fujitsu, I like to hear from Fujitsu users on: How BIG of a risk could this be? Any repair experiences, cost for replacements, known issues would help me make a decision whether to assume the risk or not.

This is a great forum, and thanks in advance for your feedback.

    George

There's always more risk when buying used. The S6231 is a fine machine, but things can break even on good machines. If you need it work you should probably get something with a warranty.

Fujitsus are reliable & the build quality is great, but it would still depend on how the previous owner cared for his/her notebook, whether it's a thinkpad/macbook/asus/toshiba/fujitsu.

Another thing you might need to consider are the repair costs. The repair cost of a fujitsu can be expensive and some parts need to be shipped from Japan, so sometimes, it also takes time if your unit ever needs to be fixed.

Zaz, Sail191912, thank you for your feedback. I do appreciate it. I decided to go with either a new or used with warranty.
