    Hey guys,
I tried unscrewing everything tonight but after i did, i notice that under the LCD had 2 screwed.
I assume that I have to unscrew those to open the casing so i can take a look at the CPU fan.

The fan is very loud and makes a rev noise as it turns on and goes faster.
I have to use NOTEBOOK HARDWARE control to set it so that processor speed is at 600mhz so the heating is not as severe.

So this is kind of dumb. I have a 1.8ghz laptop but i have to slow it down?

What can i do to stop this fan noise? i'm not really good at opening unless i have good instructions.

Also easy to obtain a replacement fan?
    thanks

I'm in the same situation. I have to replace my fan, I suddenly lost most of the fan blades. Mine is N5010.

I didn't do anything that I can say was responsible. My suspicion is that the amature that carries the blades moved causing at least one of then hit something. I have been having the computer since Jan 2004.

I have same problem on S6231 right now. It is 18 months old and this happened at month 15.

I'd have to say this is class action type of thing. Obviosuly a component that is failing on A LOT of people. $2,000 Laptop is supposed to last more than 18 months
