Is it possible to change the combo driver to a DVD Writer after buying it?

Yes, but the DVD burner is expensive, as noted in a similar thread. $500 MSRP for the super drive.

I did it with my P-2120- It cost about $150-- 9 mos ago. The same burner even updated is avail for about $130-140. It's very easy. See threads on the other Fujitso forum! (I'm not sure if you need to replace Toshiba w Toshiba or they are interchangable!

Actually i am very close to buy an E8010(Centr.1.8, 60gb Hdd and DVD/CD-WR Combo, 64mb 9700). I plan to change its harddisk and dvd/cd wr combo after buying it, i try to be sure that i can do it. If these options are ok for fujitsu, this provides it a big advantage against its competitors. This will be my first notebook. I made a hard search and after this search i can say that Fujitsu is a top quality make with its notebooks. Before my research i wasn't know this. If i buy an E8010, i promise i will make a detailed review to this forum :)

Supposively the DVDRW aka the Superdrive is actually made by Panasonic, the DVD/CDRW drive is made by Toshiba. It is possible to change it, but paying $500 bucks for is outrageous. Its just better to get an external or have it on a desktop.
