Okay, so I'm having a little trouble figuring out how to work the Atheros Wireless card on my new S2110. I don't have any problems connecting to my wireless network at home, the wireless works great, connection is almost always strong and almost zero disconnects.

But when I'm out abroad, say in the mall or at the cafe shop, I can't seem to connect to the provided unsecured networks. If it's unsecured then there wouldn't be a little Key next to the SSID right? That's what I mean by "unsecured".

Would I have to creat a new profile in the Atheros utility everytime I want to connect? Is there a way I can just have the card connect to the closest, best connection when possible?

You have to create a new profile or edit an existing one. This is why I hate that client and immediately remove it.

Yup create a profile for each connection you want. Secure or unsecure makes no difference, at home I use an unsecure network and in school a secure one, and it makes absolutely no difference in how you get connected.

I actually like the utility, but I only use 3 networks (home/school/adhoc with a friend) so I just have 3 profiles that I can flip between.
