that is not a important factor in deciding between the S6231 and the S7010.

IMO, the big thing is the S7010 doesnt have S-video out, to me that is important because i like to travel and show my anime or vids on people's TV.

The pros of S7010 is pointing stick and fingerprint scanner and 1"inch bigger screen

i personally think the 1" bigger is a con but that is me.

Actually the ventilation is a huge factor. The reason that Fujitu updated to the S6230 was that a LOT of people complained that the poor ventation made the fan come on all the time and it was REALLY noisy.

In fact the noise was what stopped me from ordering the previous model and instead I waited for S6231.

Also the S6231 is smaller. If you walk a lot with the laptop in your bag and you dont need the 14" instead of 13 - that too is a significant factor.

And portable one has the 3 year warranty on the S6231 for free. That is HUGE in the long run. With laptops something always goes wrong and can cost a lot.

i have a question about warranty. if i buy i from newegg. i assume i only get 1year warraty. could i buy a extended one from fujitsu later?

also, can you comment on the cooling of the S7010, that is what he is deciding on: the S6231 vs S7010. i havent heard of a cooling problem with the S7010

the improvement in cooling was over the previous model the S6210. The S7010D although similar is a different model.

btw, the s7010d has a horriable keyboard (I have one) the S6210 isn't great but much better than the s7010d and I agree the 13.3 inch screen is barely big enough to get by with xga. there is now a sxga s7010d option

Packrat: Can you briefly elaborate why the keyboard of S7010D is horrible?? Because I was about to place an order for one. I've read some reviews regarding the early S7010 having a bad keyboard but some people on this forum said it has been improved.

    Thanks
