I bought a Fujitsu P7010 notebook on Fry's from City of Industry, CA, in July, with a 2 year waranty.
When searching this forums, i found a thead related to dead pixels, and had a link to the Dead Pixel Buddy Program.
When i ran it, i found the following:
With Red Background, i have more that 11 faulty pixels, with the notable being the following:
2 very sharp black pixels.
5 blurry Black pixels.
1 small sharp black pixel at left
1 small sharp black pixel at right that "changes colors" depending on where you look it from. it goes from black to white to blue to pink, etc.
With White BG, i found:
the same 2 "very sharp" pixels from above, but colored blue instead of black
the same 5 blurry black pixels, but they look gray.
the 1 small sharp black pixel at leftthat "changes colors"
the 1 small sharp black pixel at right, now changes colors too.
And many very small spots like the 5 above, that look gray.
With Green BG, i found very few:
The same 5 blurry black pixels
The one small sharp black pixel at left, black.
and if you are picky, you can hardly see the same very small gray spots, but fewer (perhaps are harder too see)
With Blue BG, i found very few:
The same 5 blurry black pixels.
and another different small sharp black pixel at the left, looks black.
with Black BG, i found a few very little white spots, like the ones that appear when you rub your the screen with your finger.
I must note that i did the test before and after cleaning the screen, and when i found a pixel, i tried to clean it to make sure it wasnt dirt or debris.
i want to ask you if those 5 blurry pixels are dead pixels. they dont look as sharp as the other ones that look like this period (.), but they are present in every color.
If those are faulty pixels, what do you recomend me to do? ask for my waranty? also, will they change the screen or the whole notebook?
Thanks for your help!
Nahum
p.s. also, should i use the fry's waranty or the fujitsu waranty?

That's a lot. That much would probably be entitled to an exchange.

if i were you, i would have tried to exchange it. cuz, to me 5 is too much and 10 dead pixel is totally unacceptable.

You need to take it back. Fujitsu will excahgne it, but of course that will take longer.

The funny thing is that i wasnt aware of this until i ran the program. i thought the blurry pixels where dust, but they arent... maybe with the screen being so small (10.2") i coulndt even recongize them... well, now im going to talk to fujitsu to see if they will replace it or what else to do. ill keep you informed if they have a good service or not.

I think Frys's will exchange with no questions, at least in the first 15 days.
If you are past that find a local authorized Fujitsu service center. That's what i did here in Dallas and they swapped the screen no questions asked (they didn't even look at it) the replacement was perfect no dead pixels. I only had to leave it with them a few days. -
Yeah, it has more than 15 days... actually, more like 150 days... but i went to live to Mexico, and it hadnt bothered me before, so i was actually thinking about exchanging it this christmas. I think that with the warranty i bought i have the right to change the screen up to 2 times a year. but im interested in changing the whole laptop, but i cant find the **** warranty policies now... anyone know about fry's 2 year warranty?

Your best bet is to take it to Fujitsu when there's a problem on the first year of owning the notebook, and Fry's within 1 year after that.
Where I live (Canada), Fujitsu customer service has been great and supportive.
Here is their stuck pixel policy:
