I know that there was a thread on this topic a couple of pages ago, but I'm hoping to get a few things cleared up. First of all, how's the screen on the S7010? I know that it is not as bright and vibrant as the CV screen on the S6210, but how does it compare to other regular non-glossy TFT screens? I saw a cheaper S-series Lifebook (S2020 I believe) at a local notebook store and I wasn't terribly impressed with the screen. I hope the one in the S7210's is better.

Secondly, to the person/people who had experience with both units: is there any noticeable baterry life difference between the two? What about cooling efficiency and heat issues?

Thirdly, is there anyone else who's concerned with the long term durability of the CV screen? As I understand it, the ClearView screen is covered with a layer of anti-reflecting coating (similar to what used in binoculars/rifle scopes) in order to reduce glare. I wonder how resistant this layer is to scratching/rubbing-off.

And finally, does anyone know the maker of the wireless card in the S7010DA and whether that card is in any way superior or inferior to the Intel unit in the older S7010A?

    1) I would rate the S7010's display as above average.
    2) The heating/cooling is roughly the same, along with battery life.
    3) The CV screen is durable...they've been around for a long time. To protect it, you'll want to get a microfiber cloth to lay on the kayboard when yo uclose it.
    4) The card is Broadcom (90% sure) and should perform nearly the same as the Intel.

Overall, I think the 6210 is a better unit, but if you don't want the CV and prefer a larger display, then the 7010 is a fine choice.

Other than the CV screen, is there any particular reason why you prefer the 6210? Also, does anybody know the true height of the 7210? Fujitsu's website lists it as 1.29/1.04. Any idea what that means?

1.29 inches in the back and 1.04 in the front for height. Other then that, if you prefer a bit lighter laptop, then go for the S6210. The CV screen is great from every view of the angle plus its bright, so working outside when there is sun it has not much an effect. I was considering to buy a S7010 before but when comparing the two, the CV screen caught my eye and its much better outdoors. The S2020 isn't that good at all. Older style, much thicker then the S6210 and S7020, very slow and battery life just doesn't cut it.

The CV screen is the #1 reason. #2 would be size, I prefer a smaller, lighter notebook.
