Didn't like what I saw on my P7010

It's been about 3 years since I got my P in HK while vacationing there. The thing has worked beautiful and has travelled with me on long trips to whereever I went.

I am always very careful with it...............never dropped or mishandled and when I need to use it I always lift up the screen carefully in the middle and not on the side so I don't put undue stress to the hinges there.

Well, apparently all I have done couldn't prevent the unthinkable. I was using it all day yesterday and towards the end of the day I used it one last time. As I lifted up the screen I noticed the left hinge would move away from the laptop case like it was broken but it wasn't yet. The right side stayed right where it should so I am very disappointed right now. I'll probably have to send it in to get it fixed but I really feel this should never happen.

I didn't remember hearing anyone with issues like this on other Fujitsu laptops, are screen hinges a weak point with laptops? I've had my Acer 1680 for more than 4 years now and I treat it like the P and no issues there.

    I'm very sad my P has a possible broken hinge. :( :(

    Hi Tony,

I just encountered the same problem you have. Did you find a solution?

I've been hearing about the P7000 series having fragile hinges, unfortunately, it seems like what you experienced is the norm.

Go to Leog.net forums, they have the best Lifebook P7000 community there, I remember threads about the broken hinges discussed there.

I've have same trouble with my P7010. Left hinge was first, then right one. I use the epoxy glue and more longer bolts. It was first disappointment in F-S. Second one was the unsupporting of SDHC cards, or rather - no SDHC drivers for SD-slot.
