I understand that the S6240 has the Pentium M Centrino 140 processor, Intel 900 graphics, and Intel 2915 wireless LAN, and that the S2110 has the Turion 64 MT-30 processor, ATI Radeon Xpress 200M graphics, and Atheros Super AG wireless LAN. I have two questions:
1. Are there any other significant differences in the two models?
2. Is one preferred over the other, in terms of performance or in any other dimension?

S6240 will probably get better battery life.
S2110's integrated graphics are better than the S6240.
The Centrino processor has better performance than the Turion, however the Turion has 64-bit capabilities whereas the Centrino does not.
I don't think one is particularly preferred over the other. It's simply a matter of which factors (i.e. battery life, processor, graphics performance) are most important to you depending on what your intended use of the notebook is. -
Most important to me would be performance and then battery life. I would be using it for office applications, e-mail and web, and then programs such as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, Filemaker Pro, MeetingMaker, etc. I am not interested in gaming, and DVD playback is relatively unimportant, although it would be nice if it was at least acceptable when used.

between the turion and the centrino they are both good really, it's kinda hard to tell the difference because one have 64 bit, while the other have 2mb cache...I'd go with the s6240 as for the battery, performance is good on both, better if you get more rams.
