I just received my S7010 (I couldn't be happier with it and will make a post about it later). I bought it directly from Fujitsu through eBay. There was a post earlier about how the S7010 with the Pentium 735 (1.7GHz) didn't come with the CV screen. The ad said this unit has the CV screen, but I am not so sure. The screen looks fine to me, but is not at all reflective or shiny like I expected. It is about the same level of gloss as the 3-year old Dell I use for work.
Is there a way to definitively tell if I am looking at the CV screen?
Thanks,
Terry

If you think it looks the same as your 3 year old Dell, then you probably don't have the CV screen. I would take a trip down to your local electronics store and check out the Sony XBrite screens or perhaps find a Dell store and check out the 700m screen. It should closely resemble those screens. Really easy to tell the CV screens from the non-CV screens.

Ok here they are:

2- Switched on no flash: http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-3/977447/DSC01679.JPG

Notice the reflection of me and the light behind me ... this is the level of reflection you should be expecting!

This forum is a wonderful resource. Particular thanks to qwester for the pics.
Grrrr. What they sent definetly is not CV. Can you tell me if I am crazy to think that what they were selling included CV? Here is the link to that unit I bought. http://tinyurl.com/6s7zc
What should I do now? It was a good (not great) deal with CV, but not a deal at all without it. I would rather wait until the refresh.

Yes, they obviously state it has CV. Send it back and demand a full refund, including shipping costs to you and back to them.

You might be out of luck. Product spec box doesn't list crystal view; just 14"XGA. CV is only menitoned in the product information as an option for the line.

You're welcome for the pics, my camera is always next to me, so no hassle! [

Yes, as Brian said a full refund + shipment, because you didn't get what you paid for! + As you said it aint such a great deal!
I remember that someone here once bought a unit off their outlet store and they claimed it had CV, and when I warned that that's most probably not true he called them back and so they double checked and it turned out to be none CV. At that time he canceled his order before it even shipped! I don't get why they don't double check!!! I am sure that this has happened more than these 2 times!

Yeah, I would agree with Noahsark. They obviously just cut and pasted the information. The top snippet of information is just in regards to the S7000 series and not the item in question. I would still say it is a little deceptive, and a reasonable seller should refund you (maybe less shipping).

I see that it is simply copy and paste from their marketing material, but since these units were not customizable then there were no 'options.' This seems like their mistake, and that anyone reading this would would have interpreted it to include CV.
I have a request into Fujitsu and will post once it is resolved.
Thanks again,
Terry
Do I have a CV screen?
