If I use 2x256M ram, will I have double channel? The series I'm talking about is either S6xxx or S 7xxx.

As orangeguy said, for now NO. But the future upgrades of the series which should be appearing hopefully soon will benifit from teh sonoma platform an dual channel DDR2.

So the current S6 and S7 uses single channel DDR ... NOT DDR2 !

I believe the answer is no. Both the S6 and S7 series are still using the intel 855 chipset which doesnt support dual channel memory. Only the new intel 915 (alviso) chipset will support dual channel.
