PLease help, i didn't know where to post this message, but since i bought my computer at portable one, i thought here would be the right place. I have a Fujitsu N6010.

I keep getting "Dumping physical memory" my error message comes in the form of a Blue Screen, with white text. It states that Win has been shut down for my PC protection, it then states 'IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR EQUAL".

It happens about 5 times a day, for no reason... I searched on a lot of forums and help centers and cannot find a solution...

I anyone has any idea of what is happening, please help me, it is very anoying.

    Thank you.

The solution is to repair or re-install Windows, there is really nothing else that can be done.

Do you think it's really that easy Brian? I would have suspected the RAM, or some hardware fault... but then my prof always says that I make things too dificult

You could run memtest, which is included on many live linux distributions like Knoppix or Kanotix, to check the RAM for errors.

Hmmm. I hate reinstalling, so I would first call P1 (they have a toll free number :) ) describe your problem and ask them if it's hardware related. They will know if it is/might be. Otherwise, they will tell you what Brian did, in which case you bite the bullet and reinstall.

Post back and let me know what happens. I always get asked to help people fix their computers, and this could be a useful bit of knowledge.

I've had that exact same issue with a Dell, and reinstalling worked for me. I found it to be a corrupt XP file(s) and suspect the same is at play here. The error is scary, but I really don't think it's bad hardware. You could try removing the RAM and re-seating it as well, that's easier, but I don't think that will solve the problem.

does the error happen at start up, or during use?
Does it tell you what module/dll caused the error?

Some version of the omega drivers give me errors on start up on my machine, but that happens every single time! Only solution in my case is a restore :(

I actually had mine crash twice with symptoms like the ones you described. At the time I thought it could be the new memory modules I installed, but after I scanned them multiple times with "memtest" I figured nothing was wrong with them. So I formated and now I haven't had a single crash in over three weeks! So give that a shot!

Thank you very much for your answers Brian , I will run memtest, and reinstall or repair windows, if that doesnt work, i'll keep posting. ;)

qwester: It happens while i'm using my computer, most of the time its when i'm downloading stuff, but also when i play games, or even when i do nothing ;) its really anoying.

    Thank you all

I used to get a DIVIDE BY ZERO error with some video driver on some desktop. I agree that you should first reinstall from scratch and see if it happens again before pointing to hardware.
