I am interested in getting an E8020 however I am torn between having a superfine 1024x800 CV screen and an SXGA+ non-CV screen. At work, I am using a 15" LCD with 1024x800 resolution, and at many times I wish it had a higher resolution.

Has anyone bought or seen an E8020 with SXGA+ screen. If so, how is the screen quality?

Also, does Fujitsu have any plans to offer CV SXGA+ screens in the near future?

    Thank you all.

High resolution CV is something we really need to see, and fast. I like the combo they offer in the P7 and have no idea why they're not being more aggressive in offering the same in their other models. I want them both and would find it difficult to decide on one or the other.

I'm interested in this as well. Are there any sites that have comparisons of the two screens? Thanks!

I have the E8020, but with the regular 15" XGA CV screen. I felt it was good enough for the money, as I don't work with intense graphical software and only occasionally play games on it. The CV screen is great, probably not as great as the one on the N3510, but gets the job done for me. It is by no means a big letdown if cost is an issue with the SXGA screen, and I can understand why anyone would want that to be CV as well, but I say go for it! [8D]

I've had the E8020 with the SXGA+ display for about 10 days now. The quality of the display is very good, perhaps marginally better than the UXGA (1600 x 1200) display on the Toshiba Tecra S1 it replaced. I don't know whether the lower resolution is contributing to that perception but, either way, I'm happy with it.

Here in Australia, we only have 2 non-customisable E8020 models to choose from. The lower specced model has the 1024 x 768 CV display whereas the higher specced model has the non-CV SXGA+ display. The other differences are the processor (740 vs 770) and the RAM (512MB vs 1GB).

    I couldn't imagine going back to 1024 x 768 resolution after using 1600 x 1200. Since getting the E8020, I've decided 1400 x 1050 is about right for me. I use a 15" LCD with 1024 x 768 at work so I certainly appreciate the higher res display when I get home.
