First, I have noticed that the E8010 and E8010D models are no longer available.

I am now thinking about purchasing either the E8020 or E8020D and have a few questions:

    1. I assume the only differece between the two is the type of integrated wireless card used. Which is better (performance, reliabilty, etc.)?

    2. What kind of run time are people getting when on batteries?

    3. Is the case plastic or metal?

    4. Overall impressions?

    Thanks,
    Harvey

There are a few owners here, I'll let them address most of this. You might also check our review posted a few weeks ago.

The D means you get the Atheros card. You really want to do this, it's much better than the Intel card, just see the lengthy thread in the networking section complaining about Intel.

To the case material, I think the lid is probably carbon fiber with plastic in most other areas, that's the typical MO, but I'll let someone else confirm that, I haven't used this model yet.

Thanks for the reply. I have checked out the review (and ensuing thread). I'm hoping to get more data from additional users.
