Curious. I too have the noisy fan problem that seems to be prevalent in many of the Fujitsu models. Has anyone ever managed to fix their problem. I see everyone asking for help going back years but no one ever seemed to fix their problem.
I also noticed that Toshiba had a design flaw that caused overheating, rebooting, etc... and a class action suit just settled that added one more year to the users warranty. Would seem that for many of us that are encountering this problem in between year 1 and year 2, it might be worth pursuing. Can you indicate your willingness to be part of a lawsuit by responding to me by email. But post publicly if you have fixed your problem so that others like me might now how to fix it.
Thanks

Which exactly "many of the Fujitsu models"? Without at least this information it is difficult to suggest you anything..
-
Sorry. S2020 model.

There seem to be no off hand solution for your model (in some cases, such as with S7020 FS aknowledged the problem and released the tool to control fan speeds)
However, you issue seem to be particularly with noise, so it may be that the best solution would be to change the fan. It seems that Fujitsu for some reason puts cheap fans into their notebooks, many people have found that buying a new decent fan and replacing it helps a lot. I would try that. The tricky part is to find which fan would fit you laptop, and then you can go for example here http://www.ebuyer.com/.../Cooling-Fans, here http://www.komplett.co.uk/...10462, or here http://www.zalman.co.kr/...009. These are the sites that I've heard of but I am sure there are many others. And ebay of course. -
Thank you for the suggestion. I should add that I received a Thermal Sensor Error message 02F9 which when googled came up with a user who messaged Fujitsu Tech Support. Tech support said: The only resolution we can offer you is to send the unit to our repair facility in Memphis, Tennessee for a fan replacement. The cost of the replacement is 230.00 + applicable taxes.

Well, 230.00 fan replacement unfortunately that sounds like Fujitsu
Of course just buy the fan yourself and replace it, it won't cost a fortune and should't be too difficult.

Undervoltage cpu. And force max battery. Use NHC for example. I run my s7020D on 800Mhz and 0,7V. Battery life without networking 4h+. It shows 5,5 h, but in reality its less ofcourse.

You can try regenerate FAN - I have my C2220 since atumn 2003 and I'm doing that from time to time...
Take a look to my answer in this topic. -
