In America? The S-series, hands down. If I had the option I'd vote for my pretty little Japanese NB-series. :p

Definitely the S series, it's where Fujitsu's strength lay.. that and P series.
I find the E and C series to be too clunky, the N series is nice..but if one wanted a powerful multi-media computer, Fujitsu isn't the best place to look.. that's Asus. However the S series is perfect for business, students, and travellers. They got the right combination of light weight, thin build, sturdiness, and a beautiful screen.. and has more style than the dull all black IBM. if anything, it's only flaw is it's keyboard.

The N3510/1 has to the bulkiest and heaviest of its class. But it is so amazingly well built. extremely solid, and feels like it can take quite a few blows. It actually feels more solid than my N6010, especially on the back of the LCD.

the good thing about the n3511 is that they have it on display at compusa. one of the only fujitsu laptops that you can actually go out and touch in the USA before buying. it told me a lot about the build quailty of fujitsu. before that i was looking at ACER they had a lot that i liked but i woundered why the build felt so plastic. when i saw the n3511 i was like now this is solid! this is what i need!

If you have a Fry's Electronics in your area, they carry most of Fujitsu's lineup in-store. Worth a look if there's one in driving distance from where you live.

hopefully! I would like to have a fujitsu dealer close by to marvel at all of their models. I was lucky enough to see the whole line of Fujitsus and siemenfujitsus during my summer trip :)

I am not even sure if we have a service center close by! ... but thankfully P1 is the best place for repairs, other than waiting for the shipping process!

If the N3511 had built in BlueTooth, i'd buy it today.. How long has the N3511 been out, and is it going to be replaced anytime soon?

S for me. The P is too small for me. The 3511 keyboard was a little flexy, but the best screen I have seen. The 6000s are too heavy in my opinion. And I don't know much about the others, that leaves the S.

Although I own a N6210, I'd have to agree that Fujitsu's strongpoint is the S and P series.

The 3511 was refreshed 2-3 months ago. It's probably 2006 before that gets updated again.

It was just a processor update. But if you like the N3511, need bluetooth, and don't want the inconvenience of a usb dongle, you can get a pcmcia card the fits flush with your system. That way nothing will be poping out from the side, just as if it was buit in.

I highly doubt Fujitsu including bluetooth in any of their DTRs any time soon.

Oh, ok.. So, does the pcmcia card slide into the Express Card slot? If thats the case, and it fits flush and, works the same as having it built in...i'm good with that.
I've been going back and forth between wanting a 14" widescreen and a 15.4". The N3511 just seems so **** well built and solid to me. Am i on track thinking this way guys? I basically just want a notebook to take to my bedroom to surf on but would like a well built machine. I went to Best Buy and liked the look of the dv1000 but the whole back of the screen had wayyyyy to much flex in it for my tastes. I don't see a 14" widescreen from Fujitsu. Am i simply over looking it? I like the Crystal View screen idea on the N3511...hell, i like everything about it. I do have a Canon G4 digicam that i'd like to manipulate images on, email, etc.. I've looked at the Asus W3v, HPdv1000, Toshiba.. So far the Asus and the Fujitsu look the best built to me (online anyway.. Hows the C1300D compare to the N3511? (looks a little cheezy but, i could be wrong). Any thoughts would be appreciated.. Thanks.

No pcmcia are not compatible with express cards. But the N3511 has one of each, so no problem there.

You're right the N3510/1 have to be one of the toughest built notebooks I have seen, even when compared to the other Fujitsu's.

There are no 14" wide from Fujitsu.

No idea about the new C1300D, haven't got the chance to see one yet.

Do you have any recs for a USB Bluetooth card that fites flush into the PC slot? My S2110 only has 3 USB slots, and currently they are all be occupied (1 for the wireless mouse, 1 for the iPod connection, and another for a 2nd external hard drive). It gets a littel crowded back there, so I'd like to buy a Bluetooth mouse, if I can find a PC card that will fit right into the laptop without protruding or anything at all.

Definitely the S series, although I do have to say that the Fujitsu S-series is the only Fujitsu model I've bought. If i could, the next Fujitsu computer I'd want to try is P-7000. Roommate had it and it looks like one heck of a computer!

N Series!! Well, I don't know much about N3510/1 other than it looks nice, but the N6xx is great! For whatever reason, it's one of the only 17" lines with a number pad, and the screen is marvelous! Yes, I'm sure the screen is more or less the same on all Fujitsus - but when you get a 17" DTR, you're looking for a luxurious laptop, and it's not luxurious if the screen doesn't awe you, and if you're cramped on your keyboard without a numpad. Ah the screen the screen... I wonder if it's brighter on N6410. (I got N6210.)

Slightly brighter indeed! i couldn't believe it, not by much but definitely better contrast ratio etc. N6410 screen is great. although there is very slight backlight leakage on the sides, but very very slight.

I have no experience with the n3510... but Ive used the n6220 a good amount and the n3410 struck me as very similar build quality. Same really nice lcd quality, similar body material and general design-only smaller (from what I could tell anyway) Hope that helps.

    OK. I don't think I am interested in Tablet and Ultra-Portable (ST, T, P, B, Q) models.

So it's mainly between Desktop Alternative (N, E, C) and Thin and Light (S) models.

I heard good remarks about Fujitsu's build quality and screens. But I do not know much beyond that. The S6240 sells for $1074 at
NewEgg and looks like a sensible choice.

PS What differentiates the N, E, C models? C for cheap?
