My video card in my N3010 just died. Last weekend I was playing need for speed and it got incredibly hot and the screen just went haywire. If you turn it off and it cools down it will restart and look just fine, however, after 5 minutes it goes back to junk. Everything else, the processor, etc. works fine but the screen is all pixelated and unreadable. This laptop has been the best unit I have ever had. It's been to IRAQ and back three times but I think time has caught up with it. It is going on 3 years old and I have already had to replace the motherboard and keyboard. What you think is it worth the repair rate or time to look towards a new unit?

I think you should find out first how much the repair would cost. How can you make a decision otherwise? And, if the cost of repair is fairly low but you really want a new laptop 'coz you're worried that more problems are on the way, you can get this one repaired & sold. You know, buy a new one, wait till you get it, set it up, then send this one off since you won't be needing it any more and make a couple of bucks when it's back.

Are you sure it's not something so simple as just needing a new fan? That would be pretty cheap....
Fix the N3010 or not
