We purchased a like new B3020D off the web. The drive had been replaced and a generic Windows XP PRo installed. The computer is about as advertised and works well but has one problem.
We have been unable to get it to recognize any USB2.0 device. Anytime we insert one, it comes up with a warning that a USB2.0 device has been installed in a USB1 slot. The computer specs show it to be USB2.0 but I am unable to find a driver that I can install. The Fujitsu site has a number of drivers for the B3020, all of which we have installed, but none are the USB driver.
A phone call to Fujitsu brought the suggestion to send it back to them (cost $42.00) and they would rebaseload it (cost $150). Of course then we would lose and have to reinstall all our software and data.
Anyone out there know where we could find the driver or how we could get this thing to recognize its USB2 ports?
Thanks,
Reed

First have you updated your computer with all of the Service Packs and Hot Fixes from Microsoft. If not do that first. If you have then follow the steps below.
Go to "Start" find the "My Computer" icon and right click. Click on "Properties".
Then click on the "Hardware" tab, then on the "Device Manager" button. Scroll down until you see "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" and click on the plus sign next to it. Look for something that says "USB2 Enhanced Host Controller" if you have that line then you have the upgraded drivers for USB 2.0.
If not double click on one of the lines that says "USB Host Controller" and then find the "Drivers" tab. On the driver tab click on the "Update Driver" button and follow the wizard. As long as you have updated your computer with the latest Service Pack and Hot Fixes your computer will update your USB host controller to the "Enhanced USB2" one.
Good luck! -
You were right - for some reason it took the update to SP2 on Windows XP before it would work. I had tried the USB host controller update a couple of times before. Each time it would appear to update but USB 2 devices would still come up with the "you have hooked a USB2 device to a USB1 socket". I did the windows xp update to SP1 and it was still the same. I bit the bullet, went to a full SP2 update (expect for Windows Genunine Advantage) and then it worked. No idea why it took that, but thanks for the suggestion.
