    Hi,

Has anyone come across any information or reviews for the AMILO Si1520?

It is coming out here in Germany next week, but I was wondering whether it is already available in other parts of the world. The configuration looks pretty good and at a price of EUR 1,299 it seems like a fair deal - similar machines from other manufacturers are above EUR 1,500.

Highly appreciated if anyone has more info on this model.

    Thanks. Kilgore

It's supposed to be out in Sweden already since april 5. The specs are really nice, except for battery life.

I'm getting this one but with T2500 processor. The retail with T2300 is about 13 000 SEK so I called FS and asked about the T2500 processor. They said it will be out in the beggining of may with a reatil price of 13 900 SEK!!!!!

They seem to be dropping the price of the core duos.

Also there is a review but it's in Norwegian.

    Hi,

I did not find a review on this Amilo Si1520 but I own one since last week. Very nice, black/silver nice look, 1 Gb RAM, 100 Gb hard drive (93 actually). I do like a lot the disposition of the USB ports - two on the right side, one in the back and one on the left side, the presence of a FireWire port and the touch-pad (large and sensitive). Quite Linux friendly - almost everything works out-of-the-box with Ubuntu Dapper. Sound is not very strong but good quality as compared to my previous laptop (a Gericom webgine).

A minor problem, the fan cooling the hard-disk (I think) or the hard drive itself vibrates a little and the vibrations can be felt when the hands are kept on the laptop. This is a little annoying. Otherwise, good performance and nice build quality.
