Hey guys, this trashbook doesn't have adequate VRM cooling.

The VRM is not even covered by the heatsink, I would recommend to avoid like bga crap.

@Mobius 1 *summoned*. I don't know, workstation with LTE and some battery life is always nice. (= But very low contrast ratio in datasheet is confusing, or I'd rather say alarming. Still, I'd like to see an actual review of the machine before going forward with conclusions.

I want to see the firework of that $3K P5000 bursting in to flames due to the VRM being completely uncooled

Yeah, unfortunately, all the "proper" business workstations (e.g. Dell Precision series, HP ZBook, Lenovo P, Fujitsu Celsius) seem to limit their 15" models to MXM 3.0A only.

But, I don't mind the looks of this latest Fujitsu model at all. I'll check the reviews, certainly.

Though, I'm not sure my Ivy Bridge Precision warrants replacing. Perhaps it's better to wait for some bigger CPU architectural jump which Intel might be finally forced to do now that the AMD released some competitive products finally (absence of which allowed Intel to sell the same product over and over for like 7 generations, just slightly refined). Of course, that depends if one can find these new Quadros for upgrade at a relatively decent price.

The thickness of only 30 mm is rather surprising given the socketed CPU and GPU, which helped with the weight as well - 3 kg is pretty good for a 17" workstation. Pretty good battery life given the battery size, thanks to Optimus, which doesn't bother me if the display port connection is directly connected to the GPU (for e.g. G-Sync external monitor, VR, etc.).

Shame the CPU cooling is so anemic with only a single heatpipe!? What the hell happened there? Was it so hard to add another one at the very least? A mind numbing decision..
