Has anyone seen the Fujitsu LifeBook SH771? It hasn't come to the Western market yet. Indeed, I'm not sure if Fujitsu has any plans to sell it in this market.

I really like the looks of the SH771. Fujitsu has finally made a system that looks very professional. Some of the appealing factors of the system include: an all metal body covered in a rubbery matte black finish, security features, ExpressCard slot, and a modular bay.

If Fujitsu had designed the P771 in similar fashion, as well as added a trackpoint like in the ThinkPad line, it would have been a near perfect system for me. However, unlike the SH771, I would prefer they not try to slim it down into "ultrabook" dimensions. I prefer professional notebooks to have a more substantial, thicker build. It adds to the rigidity of the machine, allows for more ports, and caters to a larger battery - and, in turn, a longer battery life. It also helps in keeping the system cooler as it provides more room for thermal maneuvering.

Fujitsu, in the unlikely event that you are reading this, please make the P772 in the same way you made the SH771 but with my aforementioned suggestions.

    Sincerely,

    Abe
