Can anyone assist. I have a very old Lifebook series C, which I stopped using a long time ago but now want to extract the data in it. I cannot run any programmes on it now (its Windows 98 still). Can I just remove the hard drive and put it in an enclosure to transfer into another computer? If so, how do I know which enclosure it needs? Many thanks

This is probably a one time deal, so an inexpensive method would be to purchase an adaptor cable such as this:
Amazon.com: SATA/PATA/IDE Drive to USB 2.0 Adapter Converter Cable for 2.5 / 3.5 Inch Hard Drive / Optical Drive with External AC Power Adapter: Computers & Accessories
You could also search on e-bay.amazon, etc.
Hope this helps, sorry no one answered you -
The drive will be EIDE or SATA. Trying to find specifications is confusing, since Fujitsu lists this as a current model that ships with Windows 8.
Unless you have specifications in your manual that stated EIDE or SATA, you may need to pull the drive to see what type it is.
A universal adapter with multiple connectors is a good solution, and the price is right. Unless you intend to turn the drive into a USB external drive for long term use, the product recommended by UNCNDL1 looks good.
If you wish to use the drive as an external USB drive, then you need to know the drive type first. Which comes back to either a specification sheet, or pulling the drive and having a look. -
There's no way it's sata. Pata connection was alive for several years after WinXP was released
