Just got word that my N3510 is on a plane to me from Osaka!
How exciting! Much less boring than Round Rock, TX, right?
Got the 60GB 5400 drive via Portable One. Took 2.5 weeks
to ship in case anybody is interested.

Anyway, in investigating what 3rd part memory I want and
should put in this system, it's very confusing. Given
    the same specs (PC24200, DDR2, SODIMM, 512MB, 533MHz) I
    see, many many choice.

I know I want to stick with a name brand to avoid headaches
and my choice is Kingston. I know they are a real company
and mostly, they publish specific specs for this computer -
Crucial does not at this time. And they name the specific
Fujitsu memory part that they replace.

I know many different generic memory modules matching these
specs would work, but why would I want 1 of these over
the other? I ordered the 2nd one. below DealRam lists the
1st one? Price difference is >$40 for 512MB

Does the 2nd one just mean that it has been tested in the
specific N3510 model, hence, the price is higher? Or are
there other benefits (heat, energy consumption, clock rate,
throughput, etc). Some memory wizard enlighten me...

I would suggest you get your RAMs from newegg, they always have good deals. Any Ram with the correct specs will work. If you want to get high quality choose between kingston and corsair, I actually prefer corsair, + corsairs are usually cheaper. But any brand will work ... Currently I am using Kingmax, I saved aprox $20 per piece compared to corsair/kingston so it was a hard to resist deal ... and well they work just as well.

This your best deal for now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820144182

I went for the Kingston Value Ram. Second choice was the Kingmax. I like to buy from www.mwave.com or www.zipzoomfly.com. I can usually get same price as newegg, + free shipping, and better custormer service. Newegg just isn't what it used to be.

I avoided corsair because I couldn't actually get specsheets for their modules. I could get them for both Kingmax and Kingston.
