My friend recently purchased one of these machines and Im considering buying one. Does anyone know anything about them? My only concern is the 64mb video. As an an architecture student, Im not sure if that will be a problem.

Laptop Magazine reviewed this last month and gave it a poor rating. they said graphics were slow, sound was terrible and slapped a 2 out of 5 rating on it. they recommended the HP zd7000 over this which got 4/5 stars and the toshiba satellite p25 got 4.5 out of 5 stars as the editors choice desktop replacement style notebook.

It's a reliable machine, but yes, the graphics will be a problem for you most likely. Fujitsu has yet to really embrace high end grpahics cards for some reason.

    6,
I love my N5010 and I bet it won't be long before your friend does too. See if your friend will let you load on the graphics programs you expect to use and then test the machine out. Maybe get some big taxing files from a prof/ senior student. I don't find the speakers to be bad. I use them all the time. Just turn up the bass/down the treble and I think they are fine. What do people expect out of a laptop? I don't find the graphics slow, but then I haven't benchmarked my machine, either. I do know that I can play neverwinter nights with all the settings cranked. Very Pretty. The screen is gorgeous and it feels like a quality machine (at 10 lbs,it better!). I expect the bright view screen from HP would be just as good, but I don't know. I know my friend who just started an architecture/graphic design program was told to buy a laptop and that 64MB would be sufficient. It would be good if anyone that uses the programs you intend to could tell you what they require.
